Consultancy
Conduct Becoming provides consultancy services on a wide range
of topics and in a variety of different styles. We offer conventional
styles of consultancy plus coaching and DIY support to staff undertaking
special projects or with ongoing corporate social responsibility
commitments. Every project we undertake is individually designed
to meet the client's specific needs but an example of how we work
is as follows.
Diagnosis
An analysis of the organisation's current corporate social responsibility
performance typically forms a vital first component of a client
assignment. The analysis may be general and wide ranging, or tightly
focused on some issue of current concern. It is likely to entail
consideration of policy, strategies, systems, processes, reputation
and stakeholder perception. The following activities might be undertaken:
-
Map the organisation's stakeholder network to establish the
resulting obligations and relationships in the organisation's
environment (social, natural, political, etc.) at local, national
and global level, as is appropriate
-
Identify the roots of the organisation's strengths and any
vulnerability in its implicit 'licence to operate'.
-
Identify where stakeholder relationships represent threats
or opportunities, resources and springboards to innovation and
competitive advantage.
-
Assess how management of this stakeholder context impacts on
the organisation's policies, strategies, public statements,
image, reputational risk, measurement, reporting, values, culture
and competence.
-
Identify the implications from this and make proposals for
improvement.
Report and presentation
Following our analysis we usually present a written report containing
proposals for practical action. This may be followed by a live presentation
and discussion. We encourage the organisation to design and agree
processes to maintain momentum and we offer to remain engaged with
the client as they steer through agreed improvements.
